When ?

December 2, 3, and 4, 2016
Friday 10-7
Saturday 10-5
and
Sunday 12-5

Why ?

The Christkindlmarkt
 ( pronounced kryst' - kindle - markt )
or Christ Child Market
is an ancient tradition dating, in writing,
to at least the 1500's all across Europe.

It is the Christ Child who brought the greatest gift !

In various forms there are markets
all over Europe

celebrating the tradition of gift giving,
after the one who gave to us first.

Sometimes the Christkindl is seen as an Infant ~

as in the Holy Infant Jesus of Prague

Sometimes as Boy Child
And sometimes as a Girl Child
The tradition seems to have melded
with the St. Lucia tradition of Sweden
and other far Norther European Traditions.

There also seems to be always the
Tannenbaum Tree with
the Christkindl ~ The Christmas Tree

Tulsa Christmas Market !

Come one and all, and don't forget the
Children,
as we celebrated the Season  !

Frohe Weihnachten !
"CHRISTKINDLMARKT
For a unique and distinctly European holiday shopping experience head to the Christkindlmarkt put on by the German American Society of Tulsa or GAST.

Held the first weekend in December at the GAST center, Christkindlmarkt aims to bring a true German old world holiday shopping experience to the Sooner state. In addition to handmade gifts from dozens of local artists, pick some authentic German collectibles and holiday memorabilia. Children will enjoy the puppet shows and visiting Bethlehem Village, where with any luck they can catch a glimpse of St. Nikolaus."
